Skylars Check Up Was Today

Skylar had his 2 year check up today, I know were almost 3 months past his birthday, but I wont take him in to the Drs office during cold and flu season. But he is a whopping 29 lbs, (50 to 60% on the growth chart) and he is 38" long (80 to 100% on the growth chart). His doc gave him a clean bill of health other then the SMA and trach. He was super cute, waving and saying hi, I asked him his name and he said Eichele, too cute!!!

Hello all, its been a long time since posting any new pictures of Skylar. he is doing great and growing growing growing... We have had the honor of hosting the SMA bear, this is a special bear that has traveled the world, he comes and stays with all the SMA children. Sky loves to talk to him and cuddle with him. We will be sending him off to Australia on Monday :(... The auctions are doing good, Ive raised money for the Charity's and will be hosting a few more auction over the Summer. Monica and Chandler are now official 7th graders, WOW! I remember the first day of school... Before I know it, it will Graduation time and college... But they are both excited about Summer vacation, we dont have any big planes, but it will be great just to have them home. And who knows, mama might have to spring a surprise trip there way. So all is good in our home and we are all happy and full of love....

We had a very good week with Grandma Eichele and with Auntie Ruthie. Even though Sky was under the weather for half of the visit. He is doing much better now, still a little buggery but tuns better then 3 days ago. We hope that grandma will come back to see us again and that Auntie Ruthie comes back too, its kind of quite in the house with them gone.

Today we morn the passing of another beautiful child Jackson, he lost his fight with SMA today, our thoughts and prayers are with his family. Run free little one! You will be missed!!!

Silent Auction Information

I will post my silent auction on June 28th. My goal is to raise awareness of SMA. To raise money for a few SMA Charity's, Support SMA, FSMA and Fight SMA. All our outstanding resources for family's dealing with SMA. I would like to be able to raise enough money for each organization to support a child with proper equipment, such as a V-pap or Bi-pap, cough assist or suction machines, all of these are essential to the life of a child with SMA, and there are many children with SMA who cant afford this equipment. Also if anyone would like to donate to our son Skylar, it would be greatly appreciated and put to a good cause, a power chair and some smaller things is greatly needed to allow him to become able to roam around and in a way be free from the floor.

Any donations need to be written out to the organization, FSMA, Support SMA or Fight SMA, they can be mailed to my home address 4312 314th Place NW Stanwood Wa 98292 and I will at the end of my auction submit all of them to the correct organizations. Any donations to Skylar can be made out to Skylar Eichele and mailed to our home address 4312 314th Place NW Stanwood WA 98292 we will set up an account for him after the end of the silent auction.

I can only ask that you browse through my sons blog and see his journey over the past year. he is a fighter and a lover with a smile that never ends. Help us help him and so many more children fighting SMA.

Grandma Is Coming To Visit

Well in about 2 hours Keiths mom and sister should be getting off a train in Everett, they are coming to stay with us for a week. Ruth Keiths mom has never got to meet Skylar and its been almost 5 years since last seeing Monica and Chandler, and his sister Ruthie has never been to Washington before. It should be a great visit. Ill post pictures later this week. And Tuesday Skylars story will be in our local paper, Ill post the online link to the story on Tuesday.I hope you all had a wonderful Mothers Day and enjoyed those precious little gifts!HugsSheila

Skylars Interview Was Today

Skylar had his first interview today, even though he was sleeping. Everything went really great! They will be doing Skylars story this coming Tuesday, and they are going to forward it to the Herald and KIRO. So we are pretty excited!

New Words

Skylar is just so cute!!! We went for our mid morning walk today and on our walk we saw some geese, ducks, frogs and a few very pretty flowers. Well Skylar is picking up on saying new things just like that. He said Duck, frog and flower today. He has the sweetest little voice. Im so proud of him!

I just spoke with the Stanwood Camano paper today and we will be having Skylars interview on Thursday at 12:30. Im so excited, and nervous at the same time. its a great way to let people know about SMA, and a great way to let them know about the silent auction Im having to raise money for SMA at the end of June.

Skylar is doing really great! he is talking like crazy. he loves to tell you he is 2, Spongebob and Patrick are always cute to hear, Dada is a favorite word, Uh Oh (I Love that one) yeah and no of course, he can say sissy (with out the s in front of it so its issy) kitty and puppy are almost there and today he learned how to say duck and of course the best one Love you!!!

Today Was a Good Day

Today was such a great day, Im working on some art work that Ill be selling in a silent auction at the end of June to raise money to help find a cure for SMA, and to also help families with SMA that need equipment for there children. So Ive been on the phone with Childrens and family, well today I got an email from our local paper and they are going to do a front cover story on Skylar and SMA. Ill know tomorrow when the interview will be, but I cant wait... So today has been a GREAT day, and tomorrow seems to be even better. Big Bug Hugs Sheila
